Welcome to St Patrick's Catholic Primary School
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the children, their parents and carers, families, friends and members of the local parish and community who are central to the life of St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery. Our whole school community values the contribution every child brings to our school which makes our school a happy and harmonious place to learn and work. As a small Catholic primary school our mission statement is:
We LIVE with Christ by creating a happy community with a strong sense of belonging!
We LEARN with Christ by nurturing and celebrating our special talents and achievements!
We LOVE with Christ by respecting and caring for everyone.
Learning in a Catholic ethos is our core purpose and we champion challenge and learning within a safe school environment where everyone is helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. We have been concentrating on making the learning links explicit with a level of challenge which encourages our pupils to develop resilience, independence and persistence. We want our children to be encouraged to explore ideas, reason, explain and justify their thinking. This will enable them to make informed decisions and facilitate life-long learning. I believe it will also contribute towards keeping them safe.
Relationships and attitudes at St Patrick’s are very positive and an ethos exists in which learning together becomes an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all. I feel privileged to be the head teacher of a school which is truly unique and which has such a strong involvement with its community and parish.
Our school has a positive reputation for embracing and celebrating every kind of achievement. This is reflected in our commitment to inclusion and unity. At all times we strive for the highest standards in all areas of the curriculum for all children.
As a Local Leader of Education (LLE) and experienced Head teacher I have the privilege of working with other school leaders to continually support and help within our Education System. Our experienced staff know all our children personally – relationships are warm and we enjoy lots of fun along our learning journey! We have a wonderful outdoor space where children can learn and play with beautiful views across Calderdale. We feel blessed to have such a tranquil and beautiful school environment.
At St Patrick’s we welcome parents as partners so that, together, we can promote high standards of learning and behaviour. We welcome your involvement in all aspects of school life and invite you to join our Friends of St Patrick’s Association.
Thank you for choosing our school and I hope that our new website provides you with a flavour of what our school has to offer you and your child. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to come and visit us, to find out more by having a tour of our attractive welcoming building and grounds and talking to our staff and children. Appointments can be made through talking to our friendly school office staff or emailing us at school.
I look forward to a continued happy and successful relationship with you over the coming years.
With every good wish,
Mrs Lianne Lomas
